Ah, Halloween. Apart from being NaNoWriMo Eve (see previous post), it’s also that time of year where the kids get to carve up a pumpkin.

As you can see, we had fun with ours. Scooping out the gooey mess from inside wasn’t pleasant, but it suddenly struck me that there were an awful lot of pumpkin seeds in there…

I dug out as many as I could (or as many as I could be bothered to), washed them off, patted them dry, applied a little olive oil, some salt and whacked them in the oven for 20 minutes.

Yum. Hot, crunchy, salty pumpkin seeds. Better than halloween chocolate!
