A decade ago, Darrow was the hero of the revolution he believed would break the chains of the Society. But the Rising has shattered everything: Instead of peace and freedom, it has brought endless war. Now he must risk everything he has fought for on one last desperate mission. Darrow still believes he can save everyone, but can he save himself?
And throughout the worlds, other destinies entwine with Darrow’s to change his fate forever:
A young Red girl flees tragedy in her refugee camp and achieves for herself a new life she could never have imagined.
An ex-soldier broken by grief is forced to steal the most valuable thing in the galaxy—or pay with his life.
And Lysander au Lune, the heir in exile to the sovereign, wanders the stars with his mentor, Cassius, haunted by the loss of the world that Darrow transformed, and dreaming of what will rise from its ashes.
It’s here. Iron Gold, the fourth book in Pierce Brown’s epic Red Rising series. Regular readers will know that I’m a huge fan of Pierce’s work, and I am therefore just a tiny bit excited[1] to finally get my hands on a copy.
And what a beauty it is – sprayed black edges (to match my coffee), signed by Howler One himself[2].
I must confess to a certain amount of green-eyed envy[3] at seeing the advance copies going out in the world last year, seeing fellow Howlers post photos, hearing them talk about this book.
But it’s here, and it’s mine. Omnis vir lupus, as we Howlers say.
I cannot wait to get started. AWRRROOOOOO!
[1] who am I kidding? There was actual glee at seeing the book in my hands.
[2] sadly not in person this time, and a tiny bit disappointed to see the signing tour was coming nowhere near me. Ah well, next time!
[3] much gnashing of teeth and sobbing occurred. I mean, I’m happy for them and everything,
but even so. *sulks*
I am also ‘slightly’ excited by this! Will hopefully get to it soon!
